{About Me}

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy your visit and will come back again soon.

A little about me, since you are here reading this. I used to be a stay at home mom, but now I work part time in an elementary school kitchen. I'm a "lunch lady." After having been an elementary school teacher (before I had kids), this is a perfect fit for me. I have some contact with students, make a little spending money and am still available to my girls. I have two daughters, one in high school and one who will be soon. They keep me hopping with their various activities.  I'm married to a very tolerant guy. He doesn't quite get the whole blogging world, but that's okay.

I chose the name Creative Bliss as the name of my unit when I was a Close To My Heart consultant because I felt it accurately described the feeling I got when I would work on a project. I'm no longer a consultant, but I still feel that bliss when I am creative.

I enjoy many different crafts. When I was young, my mom taught me how to crochet and knit. I worked on counted cross stitch projects with her and also taught myself how to tole paint. I enjoyed sewing as girl, too. My mom was very crafty and, as her only daughter, she had in me a very willing pupil. When she passed away in 1994, I set aside a lot of my crafting because at the time it didn't bring me joy. It would make me sad to think I couldn't share crafting with her any more. I discovered scrapbooking and stamping, two things she never did and it allowed me to be creative without feeling sad. I rediscovered crocheting in the form of creating amigurumi dolls (Japanese small dolls) when my girls were younger. I realized it no longer made me sad to crochet. Rather it brought back wonderful memories. I've been exploring crochet and knitting once again and it's very exciting for me. My blog is a reflection of the joy I feel when I create or find something new.

I absolutely love blogging and reading blogs. I subscribe to many in Feedly. It's opened up a whole new world to me and brought me back to crafts I've enjoyed and maybe put on the back burner. My tastes and interests are a definite mish-mash, but it makes me happy. Too bad there are so many more ideas out there than I can ever hope to put into practice in my lifetime.

I also chit chat quite a bit about my girls and our life together.

If this type of blog interests you, I hope you'll subscribe. If not, thanks so much for stopping by, and I truly hope you enjoy the rest of your blog travels.
