Blue and Gray Happy Birthday Card

Hi There!

Thank you so very much for the lovely comments on Happypotomus. The young lady who I made it for adores it and wrote me the sweetest thank you note. Made my heart happy for sure. Actually her mom threatened to keep it for herself. Ha, ha! Anyway you are very sweet for liking Happy as much as I did(and still do).

I was in need of a birthday card or two and saw this on Wizard's Hangout. So pretty and I owned the main stamp set she used. Whoo hooo for me! I sat down to try my hand at it and this is the result after it was all said and done. I don't think creating clusters is my forte, so I copied the placement of the images as much as I could. It took me three tries to get the spacing somewhat right. So not my forte. But I tried and this looked okay to me.

I also made one in the yellows/oranges, but didn't get a picture of it. I already sent it off...was on a time crunch, of course.

The three blue flowers in the center are fussy cut and popped up with foam squares. I added Stickles to the centers to keep this less bumpy.

Stamp sets are CTMH: Lifetime of Happiness (C1589), Curly Greetings for the Happy (old set B1143) and Happy Birthday (C1257, also an older set).

Colors are Heavenly Blue, Whisper, Slate, Lagoon, Pacifica and Black (all Close to My Heart inks)
The Happy is from an old CTMH set called

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you are having a great day!
Hugs,
Jeanne

This is so beautiful Jeanne. I love the colors and your cluster looks great. I'm not good with doing that either (although I think you did just fine). When I look at other people's cards, I can tell right off the bat that it looks pleasing to the eye. But when I try it on my own, I'm at a loss.

Well if you hadn't told me this was not your forte, I would surely have thought it was!! This is soooooo pretty!! I love the different shades of blue with the gray! Really different but lovely combination! You're making me want to go get some floral stamps out! So glad you had time to stamp! I'm sure the recipient of this will be thrilled! (Hugs and happy week!)

I think you did a beautiful job with stamping the floral cluster on this card...and truth be told, I actually prefer the yellow/orange card you blessed me with. ;) It's absolutely gorgeous --so spring-y and happy!-- and it is contributing to the very big smile I'm wearing. Thank you so much!! {I can take a pic of it for you so you can share it if you'd like.}

"Happy" is just precious! I can see why the girl's mama might want to keep it for herself. {I still have your darling crocheted cupcake on display so I can enjoy it every day.} You do beautiful work, Jeanne, regardless of the medium you choose.

Thanks for sharing this card, and for sharing its fraternal {or would that be stamp-ternal? lol} sibling with me. You are soooo sweet and thoughtful, and I am blessed to call you my friend!

big hugs,
Christi

Oh my, Jeanne, I think floral clusters are very much your forte, based on the evidence here! Your card is gorgeous: a lovely combination of images and the blue/grey combination is quite eye-catching! The glittery ribbon is a charming special touch, as is the "happy' snuggled up close to the bouquet. Beautiful! I read Christi's comment about the yellow/orange card you sent her: sounds like you made her day with that version. Take her up on the offer of a photo, please; we'd sooooo love to see more of your amazing creativity (and she mentioned a crochet cupcake...Seriously, how fabulous that must be, too). Of course, a visit here meant another quick peek at Happy Hippo; he gets cuter with every viewing!

I'm sorry you had a bit of trouble with your cluster, Jeanne, but you really can't tell that by looking at this gorgeous card! It is sensational! It would be really pretty even without the ribbon! Well done! (And I'm not surprised Happypotomus was a HUGE hit!!) Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

Popping in to say THANK YOU for visiting my blog and leaving such heart-warming comments! Sparkle added to my day! I was lucky with the Michael coupons this weekend: one was 40% off a regular priced item, while the other was 30% off the entire order for one day only. I only bought paper and some already-reduced Valentine items. Happy with the savings on the card-stock for sure! Enjoy your Tuesday!
