Sorry...not feeling very creative~

Gosh, it's been a bit since I last posted, hasn't it? I'm sorry about that. I don't even have any artwork to share for my hiatus from posting. :o( I just haven't felt very creative lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

I thought I'd let you know that I had planned to see a new doctor in a different practice about my blood pressure situation. I had even set up an appointment, but I couldn't get in until Wednesday of this week. I was okay with that...until I had another "episode" of a tingly left hand and raging headache with the bp rising (although not quite as high as last time-thank goodness) last Thursday. I called the practice I normally go to and asked for a different doctor. I'd heard that another doctor in that practice was good, so I thought I'd try him. I was able to get in by the end of the day (I think I was his last patient). The bp was up when I got there...but that didn't surprise me given my history of higher bp when I go in. He was able to explain things in a way that made sense. I'm making some pretty big health changes, plus I am in perimenopause, all of which are big stressors on my body. But he listened and he answered questions and gave me some guidelines to follow. He gave me reasons for what has been happening which eased my mind tremendously. There are some things I am to"do" which helps me feel a bit more in control (like recording my bp at specific times during the day-not just willy nilly) and that helps. I'm to go back in a few weeks for follow up. So, I feel a lot better about things. I most impressed that he spent a significant amount of time with me, and didn't rush me out the door. Whew!

I hope you had a nice Mother's Day. Mine was nice, but it is always a bit bittersweet as my mom is no longer here to celebrate. Steve didn't feel like making his usual Sunday morning breakfast, so we went out. Then at dinner time he asked what was for dinner. To which I replied...whatever you feel like making or whatever you choose to eat at a restaurant. I think he thought going out to breakfast would "cover" the meal. But since I don't make the big breakfast, ever, what kind of time off was that? LOL I was in the mood for salad so we went to Sweet Tomatoes...which was yummy and not crowded! :o) We all went for a bike ride after dinner, too, which was a nice way to finish off the day.

Today was a bit busy as Amy only had to go to school for an hour and a half for assessments. She went in at 8, Jessica starts at 9. Drop Jess off and go back to pick up Amy. We ran some errands to fill the time til we picked up Jess. Got home, had lunch and they played a bit before swim class. Back and forth...back and forth! LOL But it's all good. Enjoyed the 70plus degree weather as tomorrow we are supposed to get a rain/snow mix I've heard! Thank goodness I listened and haven't started planting flowers just yet.

Okay...that's it. Hopefully my creative spark will return soon and I'll have something fun to share. :o)

Just when I was going to email you and ask, "Are you OK?," your post popped up. The menopause stuff - yuck - started when I was 43 and I was done by 46. It was a crazy three years, and I guess I was lucky that it was only three years. I'm glad you found a doctor that talked. That is so important. Father's Day is the day I miss a parent so I know how you felt yesterday. As for the "What's for dinner?" question, I have a story that will top yours but will save it - a typical "man" tale. I'm glad you had an OK day. Finally, I'm looking forward to the return of your creative spark!!!! Take care.

Jeanne, Jeanne, Jeanne girl...

I hope you get feeling better quickly and I hope this new dr can figure things out for you and get you on the road to good health!

I am glad you were able to spend some fun time with your family on MOther's Day. :) Sometimes it's fun just to hang out... Brent and I went walking in the mountains and let Sadie swim in a lake ... big treat for her... messy car for us.. lol!

Sending you big hugs!

Jeanne,
Sorry you had another episode... BUT, SO GLAD you were able to see another doctor, who sounds like he will help you to take MUCH better care of yourself.
You're in my heart! Hugs, Joyce

I'm so glad that you were able to see a different doctor and he paid attention to you. I've been thinking about you so much lately and have been wanting to call. I hate being so far away! I know that everything is going to work out fine for you and I'm glad that your mother's day was great. Mike left today for 6 weeks. He was only home for 4. Gotta love the Navy! Hugs!

I think feeling under the weather can zap even the most creative of people (like you). Your mojo will be back soon! Take care of yourself.

Do you know there is not one Sweet Tomatoes in my state? Gasp. Not even a Fresh Choice. I should open one myself....

Sorry to hear you've been feeling so yucky...I hope this new doctor will be good and give you some answers to help you out.

Don't stress about not creating...sometimes we need breaks from EVERYTHING...even being creative and doing things we love.

Take care!

Happy late Mothers Day. Sorry to hear your BP is giving you trouble. I have mild issues with mind also but have found medication that isn't riddled with side effects.
I'm glad to know I wan't the only one who refused to take on my provider role on Sunday! Good for you for not cooking!!
Sending you good creative vibes! I LOVE your stuff!

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling all that well (yet!), but glad to hear you've found a doctor who will listen to you and is off to a good start toward helping you. I'm sure you're relieved about that. (I can relate to your perimenopause deal -- not a lot of fun there....)

Too funny about your hubby thinking breakfast adequately displayed his "appreciation" of you on Mother's Day -- and I loved your response! I'm glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day, but I really feel for you not having your mom there to share in the day -- though I'm sure it's an almost constant feeling, not just on Mother's Day.

I also owe you a thanks, in an indirect sort of way -- my mom apparently emailed you about the baubles you found at Michael's. She said you were so nice and that you even scanned in a package and emailed her the pic so she could see what they looked like. Well, she found some...and shared them with me! ;D So, thanks!!! lol

Take good care, rest up, and make sure you share your projects with us as you feel up to making them again. I think we're all going to go into 'Jeanne withdrawals' if you don't create something soon! ;)

Hugs and blessings!
