Happy Harvest Owl Card

Here's a card I worked on after being inspired by this blog post from Doodlebug.

Love Doodlebug and took advantage of a recent coupon deal from Archiver's to get some new Halloween and Happy Harvest goodies. Those little dot things are called Sprinkles and they are fun. I don't normally get the stickers, but splurged this time. Fun, fun, fun. Still debating if I want to add a sentiment, or just put it inside.

That's it from me today. Thanks for visiting.
Til next time.

How About a Card?

Hello!

Anyone there? It's been a while, hasn't it? I didn't intend to take such a long break between posts. I've been reading blogs and commenting, but my creative spark has all but extinguished these past several months. Can't say that I've gotten it back, but I did play some today and figured I'd share, just in case any one still stopped by. ;)

I had a birthday not too long ago and my friend Becky gave me a set of Spellbinders dies...the kind where you cut, fold and tuck. The set is called Angle Approach and after Googling images using these, this is what I came up with. She also gave me a section of the Mbossibitilies folder she purchased. Love those dots in the diamond shape. (Thanks so much, Becky!)

The paper is Miss Caroline from My Mind's Eye(because it's double sided) with a bit of CTMH Buttercup cardstock. I also used a doily to help set it off. The ribbon is from my stash and if I remember correctly, I got it at the Dollar Tree a long time ago. The pearl is from Michaels Recollections brand.

On the home front, the girls have started a new school year and are quite happy with their classes/teachers. Amy is in beginning band and is learning to play the trumpet. She is thrilled and quite willing to practice so far. Jessica is looking forward to another year in choir which starts next week.

My dad came to visit this summer, as he does every year. We had a great visit. Don't you love his bright green shirt from Barbados? He got to go on a Caribbean cruise this summer, lucky duck.

Dad loves Joe's Crab Shack and this bib was just too funny.

Jessica has joined the rest of the family in being fully nearsighted and both girls got some new specs.

I don't want to bore you with "what I did on my summer vacation", so I'll stop here. Although I must share that we went to South Dakota to visit Steve's family, and we took part of a day to drive to DeSmet, where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived (author of the Little House on the Prairie books). I'm a huge fan. Jessica has read them all, so this was a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to see where she and her family lived for part of their lives.  It made me very happy. And now I'm done.

Thanks for visiting and I hope to be able to post on a more regular basis.
Have a great weekend!

Digital Project Life-Week 17

Here's my offering for Week 17 in my Digital Project Life journey. The girls have been pretty helpful with feedback on what they think looks good and we all are happy with the final result of this week's effort. *Ü*

I have no idea how the gals of Bella Gypsy come up with so many amazing kits week after week, but they sure do. I picked the Hello Summer bundle that is being offered this week at Scrap Orchard because the colors are bright for summer, but also unique as well. Fun to work with for sure.

A New Crocheted Friend-Danni Rae

I'm so happy to share that I just finished crocheting a cute doll. Happy because my elbow didn't hurt at all while I was crocheting or even after I'd quit for the day. Yay! I'm hoping my patience paid off and that I can continue to crochet without discomfort.

This is Danni Rae:
She can walk around in her flip flops or...
Put on her tube and flippers.
 Sweet face, don't you think?
Many thanks to my assistant who loves having Danni wear the tube and flippers and making her "swim." She figured out the easiest and quickest way to get that tube on. Thanks, Jessica!

Danni is one of 4 dolls in the pattern booklet called Crochet Your Own Dolls and Accessories. I picked it up at Joann's earlier this year.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope your weekend has started off swimmingly.

Summer Fun Digital Layout

While today it is only in the 50s and overcast, on Monday we hit a near record high in the 90s. The girls cooled off in fine fashion and I remembered to snap pictures. Had some time this afternoon to create a non Project Life layout.
Yay!
I like the happy colors.
I believe you can click to enlarge the image.

On the Sunny Side Cards

On Friday we got together with our friends for our first summer playdate. While the kids played together, Becky and I had our own crafty playdate. I was able to create three cards, all using My Mind's Eye paper from the On the Sunny Side collection. I found it at Archiver's. The colors make me smile. I also used the April and May Stamps of the Month from Close To My Heart.
This card uses the April Stamp of the month and the Hello stamp from Hello Blooms. Holiday Red and Sunflower worked well with the collection.

The stars are from the May Stamp of the Month and have been inked in Holiday Red, Sunflower and Twilight. The red paper is American Crafts brand. The blue is Twilight cardstock with the stars stamped in Twilight as well. On the white circle, I inked the stamp in Sunflower, stamped off on a scrap paper then stamped on the white cardstock. I like that it breaks up the starkness of the white a little.

I used my corner rounder again on 1 1/2 inch squares of paper. The butterflies are from Michaels.

The cards were inspired by cards found on Pinterest.

Digital Project Life-Week 16

Yay! Week 16 started and finished today. *Ü* Feels a little like I might be getting into a bit of a groove. Just as an FYI, the template I used is designed to showcase photos taken over the course of one day and it has spots for typing the different times of the day to go along with the photos. I chose to hide those parts of template. The beauty of templates in action.
