Puff Shell Dress & Hat (or I must be insane...)

Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you are enjoying this mid-week day. Friday's getting closer!

I didn't post yesterday because I was trying really, really hard to finish the dress for Barbie that Amy wanted me to make. It's called the Puff Shell Dress, but I do believe it should be called, Is Mommy Insane to Attempt This Dress? LOL Not only did I innocently attempt it-thinking shells are easy, I actually finished it, as the groove in my thumb from the crochet hook can attest. There's just about an entire skein of baby weight yarn in this thing!

Jessica actually laughed when she tried it on her Barbie, oh excuse me, on Alexa, because it's so big. Gee, thanks Jessica for appreciating all the work that went into it! LOL

Okay...here you go...I can't believe I made this!

Doesn't it just scream Scarlett O'Hara to you? Especially the first shot? LOL That's what I thought of when I was making this and taking the pictures. There is no petticoat under that skirt...that's just how poofy it is! And it's pretty heavy, too. ha, ha!

I think I've made my last elaborate Barbie dress. There are other clothes the girls would like, but I don't think any of them are as much work as this one was (thank goodness).

Thanks for stopping by...I should get to work on something else, but I won't think about that right now...after all, tomorrow IS another day! hee, hee

So so pretty Jeanne! I know your daughter appreciates it. I love the colors and the shells are one of my favorite stitches to make. I did a shell afghan once. Ahhh...makes me want to play Barbies with my girls now. LOL! TFS.
