Stopping by real quick to let you know I haven't completely fallen off the face of the blogosphere!
Summer weather has decided to make a comeback after a week or so of very cool temps and rain, so I've been taking the girls to the local pool for swim time almost every day. Hey, they cool off and it's cheap entertainment. I sit under the umbrella and work on whatever handwork I've got going, so I think it's a win-win. *Ü* (even though I've not made it out to my craft room at all recently)
Then yesterday afternoon, Steve's sister, Sandy and her hubby, Jeff rolled into town on their motorcycle. They live in Sioux Falls and went to Sturgis (a big motorcycle rally) for a couple of days and took a huge detour to come visit us for a few days. If all goes well, they will head back to the rally for a few more days after they leave here and then they'll head home. It was really iffy that they would even come our way as Jeff's mom is ill, but she told them they should follow their vacation plans.
So, after a yummy breakfast at Gunther Toody's this morning, we took them to...can you guess? No...not miniature golfing...but to Bass Pro Shop (to see the huge kittycat fish) and then the Museum of Nature and Science. We didn't get tickets for Expedition Health as open times were too late in the afternoon, but we managed to have a good time showing them around the museum anyway. LOL
Before all that happened, you would not believe who was willing to take a quick spin on Jeff's motorcycle this morning. You might be surprised....take a peek...
Amy apparently said, No way! But Jess was game. She said it was a little bit scary, but a lot of fun, too.

I can think of nothing better than to spend my days with my kids by the pool!!! Good for you Jeanne.
Looks like you had fun with your visitors! Especially Jess...what a cool picture..can't wait to see your scrap that one! I used to BEG my Dad to take me out on his bike (Not a Harley LOL...a nice comfy BMW) It was so fun! Thanks for keeping us up to ate Jeanne!
I was telling my Mom on the phone how wonderful all your creations are ( she is a knitter) And was telling her about your Barbie clothes. She says...well don't you remember all the dresses and such I knitted for your Barbies! I am ashamed I don't. She apparently even knitted a Starsky ( from Starsky and Hutch) jacket for my bothers GI Joe LOL I told her she needs to find them and bring them here in Sept when she visits.
Ok I will quit yapping.
She's so cute on the bike! I miss eating at Gunther Toody's!
What fun days you've been having. I don't blame you for wanting to be outside this week when last week was so crummy for the most part.
Jeanne,
Enjoy your family - we'll wait right here.
What a wonderful photo of your daughter on the motorcycle. What a brave girl and brave Mom!!! I don't know if I could have . . .
Hugs!
My husband SO WANTS a Harley. :)
I'm glad to hear you are having such a good time. I would love to have the freedom to take kids to the pool every day (again...). Looks like you have some fun company, too. Good for Jessica for braving the back that big motorcycle, and good for Amy, too, for knowing that it might not be her cup of tea. Enjoy the rest of the week, and thanks for bringing us up to speed on what you've been doing! It's always fun to read your posts.
You know how I feel about setting time aside for the people that matter the most. ;) I'm following suit too, Jeanne.
I remember my 1st motorcycle ride, I was sacred to death. So tell Amy no worries
How fun!! My husband started giving our boys motorcyle rides when they were 2.5. They sat up front by the tank. :) Sweet memories... TFS
