Another Owie for Jessica!

Oh my poor Jessica. I went into the school to volunteer in her classroom and all was well. Came home and not long after that I got a call from the school nurse. Jessica had tripped and fallen in gym class and hit her chin square on the floor. I needed to come and get her to have someone take a look at it.

I get there and she is stoically sitting on the bench in the nurse's office holding a cold pack to her chin. We couldn't tell how deep it was, but it was definitely split. So, I called the doctor and we got in relatively quickly. No tears from her this time (maybe because she's been through something similar all too recently?). The doctor looks and says she can "glue" it together. Been there, done that, too. (thankfully no stitches were required) She glued her up and sent us on our way. I asked her if she wanted to go home or back to school. My little trouper said, go back to school! So back she went. I went home for a few minutes to collect myself because I was due to head back into the school for a parent teacher group meeting.
Here's what it currently looks like. Thankfully, she has to lift her head up for you to see it, so the scar won't be  easily seen. I took some pictures with my new cell phone, but I don't know how to get pictures off of it to share here. She was in her room playing with some friends when I went in to take pictures. She told her friends...my mom ALWAYS has to take pictures. LOL Too funny. They responded, their mom does too. ha ha!

I'm trying out a free service at www.picnik.com. You can upload your photos and create collages(among other things)! Neat! You don't have to download anything either. Let me know if you have any problems seeing the photo.

In other news, my computer died twice on me this morning while I was typing blog comments. Grrrrr....Steve came up to me and said...I think it needs a new power supply. A friend of ours is loaning him one to test it and see if that's where the problem lies. We shall see.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your Wednesday is less full of adventure than mine has been!

What a little trooper! Poor mom!! It is cool, though, how they can glue kids back together these days.

I hope the different power supply works. If so, an "I told you so" (if only under your breath) will be in order. LOL.

Take care, sweet Jeanne!

Ouch! That looks swollen too. Hugs to Jessica and you. I remember when I was a kid, I was in the ER all the time from "playing hard". LOL! Good luck! She is a trooper to go back to school. My son would have said "HOME". Anything to get out of school.

Awwww...poor Jessica! She's getting a little too familiar with serious boo-boos, as are you! ;( I'm glad it didn't need stitches and that it apparently didn't hurt too badly if she wanted to return to school after the dr's office visit. Too funny about all the moms taking pictures --that's just part of our job, ya know?! And you're much better at it than I am! lol
