Give Thanks

Happy Thursday! Hope you all have been having a good week. I'm doing well and finally made into my corner this afternoon. Got one piece done and thought I'd share real quick before I head out to get 100_5161the girls from school.

My inspiration came from this card by Julee on the Poetic Artistry blog. Julee's been sharing artwork for the upcoming monthly release on Verve Stamps. So, I don't own the stamps she used (yet) and tried the card with some Close To My Heart stamps. I think it came out okay, but I like my inspiration piece better.

I stamped the largest pumpkin with Brown Bag ink first, then made a mask with a sticky note and added a pumpkin on either side. Then I went back and stamped the images again with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper ep. I wanted a bit of a glittery look so I used a pen I recently picked up from that store that was going out of business (but I've also seen them at Archiver's and I think Hobby Lobby). It's called a Twinklette (pigmented glitter marker by Marvy). The one I used is orange. You might be able to see the glittery look better if you click on the image to enlarge it. After I colored it in with that, I added some brown with a Bic Mark-it pen.  The dp I used is from my ever faithful Fall Matstack (DCWV) and the discs are Halloween colored Dew Drops from Robin's Nest. The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory, I think.

Used:

Stamps:  Harvest Memories, Give Thanks (CTMH)

Paper: Cocoa cardstock (CTMH), Fall Matstack (DCWV)

Accessories: Copper embossing powder (Stampendous), Dew Drops, Ribbon (from stash)

Tools: sponge, heat gun, circle punches, concave punch, small slit (??) punch, piercing mat (SU)

If I forgot something, please forgive me. I need to head out as I am going to Amy's class to listen to some of the students read during their  independent reading time. It's the only bit of volunteering I am able to do since Jess goes to K in the afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are getting your notices of my posts okay...because I usually get them too (from Feedblitz) and I haven't the past few times I've posted.

Very pretty card! I love the papers and all the Dew Drops! I've stamped those same pumpkins so many times this fall but have never liked the way they turned out. You've inspired me to try again!! Maybe this weekend when I'm ALONE!! TFS!
