Thanksgiving Cards

Talk about the shoemaker's children having no shoes...I just made my first Thanksgiving cards today! (hanging head in shame) If intentions were actions, I'd have a bunch in the mail, but they are not. These two that I made today are for the girls' teachers.100_5252100_5253

The pumpkins are from a Hero Arts stamp set called, appropriately, Happy Thanksgiving. I colored in the single pumpkin using my Bic Mark-it and Sharpie markers. I added a little sparkle with a Twinklette pen in orange. The pattern paper on both cards is from DCWV's Fall matstack. I clear embossed the pumpkin but first inking it in Versamark, then in Chocolate ink (CTMH) I discovered Cocoa turns green when you heat it! I picked up some gold bead caps and discovered the smaller ones in the package cannot be flattened easily. But by adding a small pop dot and a glue dot, you can attach them easily. I added a little jewel on top with a mini glue dot.

The second card is paper pieced with dp from the same paper pack. I pop dotted the middle one to give it a little dimension. My inspiration for this card is this one on the Verve Gallery. While there isn't room for a sentiment...I think it looks fine as is. I think the cards are pretty self explanatory.

Note for Alanna...the Michaels I talked about is off I-76 at 144th (St./Ave.) You can see it from the interstate.

I think that's it for today! Thanks for stopping by...I am off to hopefully finish Jessica's poncho! And believe it or not, I have started a crocheted one for Amy. I'm really enjoying working with yarn right now.

Both of these Thanksgiving cards are beautiful, Jeanne! I love everything about them -- and all your details are just so lovely and enhance the cards so nicely. I'll bet your girls' teachers will be putting these cards out as part of their festive decor to add to the Thanksgiving spirit year after year.

What lovely cards! That's a nice pumpkin stamp, and those papers are awesome. I really like those little jewelry findings your using. I'll have to check them out the next time I get to a "big" town. As for Thanksgiving cards, I have a good sized stack here, none of which, due to circumstances, I got a chance to put in the mail. I'll do it late. After all, gratitude isn't just for one day. Speaking of gratitude, thank you so much for the sympathy card. Marv was as touched as I was. The funeral service was a nice as one can be. Nevertheless, it's a draining experience, and we're ready for a good night's sleep. Thanks again, friend!

Oh wow, Jeanne! I love these cards. Pumpkins are my favorite and I try every year to abstain from buying a new pumpkin stamp. But, I think I need to check this one out!

Can't wait to see your crocheted poncho. Me? I only looked at the yarn so far and haven't decided on any projects yet. I need to hurry up, Christmas is coming!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Jeanne.
