Glittery Bunny Birthday Card

Hi there!

We have a 3 year old's birthday party to go to in just a bit and I wanted to share the card I made.

I think it should be sparkly enough for a little girl having a princess party, shouldn't it?

I used a downloaded image called Kisses and Hugs from All That Scraps and colored it in with Prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I used a clear stamp that I have no name for to stamp the background. I think I might have gotten the set from Archiver's or Hobby Lobby, but it's been so long ago, my memory is failing me. I had to stamp in sections, using Versamark and embossed each section so I could see where to place the stamp for the next part of the background. My inspiration for the card came from this card posted by Julie Buhler of the Paper Pleasing Ideas blog. I really liked the white embossed on pink and thought this flower stamp would work well as the background instead of the swirls.

I tried scraping the edges of the focal image onto a glue pad so that I could add just a touch of prisma glitter. It worked so-so. My pad may need a re-inking. Then I embossed the Happy Birthday (from CTMH) in Pearl White embossing powder (also CTMH), thinking it would stand out more. It didn't, so I rubbed Baby Pink ink (CTMH) over the Baby Pink cardstock. I also used 1/8th inch wide super sticky tape around the edges and poured prisma glitter over the tape. The ribbon may be a little much but I felt like it needed a little pop of color.

The focal image and sentiment are attached with pop dots for a little dimension.

I hope to get back into my corner after the party, so check back later and see if I was able to create some more.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jeanne

Oh so cute! And just the right amount of glitter! I love the white embossing on the pink background, too! Fun!!

Awww, what a sweet card! That image is darling, the embossed background sets it off, and the glitter adds just the right touch. Even if the 3-YO didn't appreciate it, I'm sure everyone else at the party did. ;)
