Just Because Scallop Flowers Card

When I saw this project on Joanne's Mainly Flowers blog, I knew I wanted to try it out for myself. Instead of putting them on the top of a box though, I used them on a card.

I followed the tutorial on the post and am happy with how my flowers came out! I used a leaf punch rather than a 5 petal flower for the leaves, though.

The paper is from Chloe's Closet and the lace is some I re-discovered in a large popcorn tin that used to be my mother's. When I opened it up, lace of all kinds came tumbling out! What a fun discovery!

My second card is an image from a Darcie Heater clip-art cd that I colored using

Koh-i-noor pencils, odorless mineral spirits and blending stumps.

As you can see, I decided to use lace again! I'm not 100% convinced it looks all that great, so it may end up coming off at some point. The embossed background is from a new Sizzix embossing folder I found at Archiver's when they had their Make & Take weekend. It works okay, except it's just a smidge thicker than the Cuttlebug ones and my usual bit of folded notebook paper that I use to keep the cardstock from cracking didn't seem to fit. I was worried I might mess up the machine and we can't have that! So, I'm dealing with cracked cardstock. LOL Because of the lace, I ended up making this a 5x7 card.

Trying again after deleting my first comment cuz I can't spell! VERY cute cards! I can't even choose which one I like best! For certain, your mojo is back!!! Love the lace. What a fun surprise in that popcorn tin, too! Glad you had a fun stamping day!

Such pretty cardsm you've shared this weekend, Jeanne. I love the lace on your cards. "Great minds" on the second card...I printed out this image, but with the empty wagon, was planning to fill it with shamrocks. Isn't Darcie's stuff fun? Looks like you had a very productive weekend...good for you and thanks for sharing and inspiring all of us.
