Birthday Cards, Inkspired by Kathi

Betcha thought I forgot I said I'd post some cards, huh? Nope. Just got sidetracked by that Gordon layout.

Kathi continues to inspire me with her great cards. Here is my version of this one she created. I really need a lesson or two on how to tie knots so the tails lay straight across instead of going up and down. I've watched some being tied on videos and I try to mimic them (from memory, since I don't have a computer in my craft room), but obviously need lots more practice!
Credits: Stamp sets used (all CTMH): Happy Birthday, It's a Party (Citrus Leaf "burst"), Friendship Blessing (Dutch Blue dotted ring), Groovy (Holiday Red flower), Friendship Flowers (Sunflower flowers), Dutch Blue cardstock, American Crafts ribbon and bling from various sources.

I loved this card (second one, obviously) Kathi created and had to make one for myself. I think it is simple and fun. One thing I did that was a little different was I stamped the "burst" in Citrus Leaf and then rolled the edges of the stamp in Breeze. Made a nice varigated look on the image. Not sure if you can see it. Maybe if you enlarge the photo.

Credits: Happy Birthday and It's a Party stamp sets (CTMH), Breeze Black and Citrus Leaf ink, Citrus Leaf and Black cardstock, acrylic discs (Michaels), rhinestones (???).

Thanks for the inspiration, Kathi! These were fun to make!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I love the circles here and the dew drops are perfect! BTW, your Gordon layout was what got me thinking about my own kids fixation with shows! (And inspired this: http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/2008/04/is-this-just-hot-mess.html

Thanks!
