Celebrate Today Card

I'm learning as I go. I thought I'd let you know this, so you can have a good chuckle and maybe, just maybe help someone whose memory is like mine. My computer is in the house. My craft room is in the garage. I used to have a computer in the garage, but then the girls computer died and it was pulled into the house. So, no computer in the garage. When I see a card that inspires me, I copy it and paste the picture into Word and any description I feel I might need. I even have gone so far as to type in the creator and/or blog info on this Word doc. Then I print it off and take the paper out to my room. Sounds good right? Wellllllll, when I come in, I usually bring the cards I've created and any drink and/or something the girls insist I carry because their hands are too full. Suffice it to say, my hands are pretty full. And those inspiration papers with all the info I printed? Well, they are usually sitting on my table in my craft room! When I sit down to share with you, I inevitably think oh I'll remember this or that. Ummmmm NO, I don't remember and half the time I'm too darn lazy to run back outside to grab the papers. This past week I had a "duh" moment! I thought, how can I get the info into the house without adding to the stuff I usually already carry? I looked at my huge stack of post-it notes and...picture the forehead slapping of the I could've had a V-8 commercials! LOL How obvious! Write notes on the post-it and stick it to the inside of the card! Yes, I know...I'm a sad, pitiful person not to have thought of this before. Ah well...it seems to be helping me as I jot notes as I'm creating the card, or immediately upon finishing it. So there you have it...how sad am I??? LOL

I created this card after seeing this one on the Lucky Clucker blog. Again, I didn't have the same papers, but I really like the colors in this plaid paper from The Spring Mat Stack. Oh and the polka dot paper is from the same stack. :o)

It's pretty straight forward, I think. I used my Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangle and Straight Rectangle, and then embossed the straight one. I adhered this to the main card using pop-dots to give it some dimension. A long time ago I picked up the Making Memories Slot punch things. I had to have it then, but honestly, haven't used it much. But I wanted to replicate the way she adhered the ribbon, so I pulled it out and used it on this card. The Celebrate Today also has a pop dot, but for some reason it looks crooked. Don't know why!

Beautiful Jeanne! I have been debating about that stamp set from Papertrey, and I think you've just convinced me to add it to my collection! The colors you've used here are so pretty. Thanks for sharing.
