Enjoy and Friendship Cards

My eyes are twitching, so I think this will be my last post tonight. I couldn't log on earlier because Norton was scanning the computer and I'm also trying an online storage back-up and it's working on backing up my computer. Those two running was making the computer slow to a crawl this evening. We're trying the online backup because Steve isn't convinced that an external hard drive is the answer for backing up, since they can fail just as easily as any other drive. We'll see if this online place does well. I'll feel better knowing that I don't have to burn tons of discs all the time.

Enough of that. This card was inspired by this one on iSTAMP.

I found this DCWV Purple Flowers paper on sale at Joann's the other day (6 for $0.96). I thought it looked similar to some of the cute Stampin Up paper that is used on blogs I read. To make the polka dots, I ran my Crystal Blue cardstock thru the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then I rubbed the Crystal Blue stamp pad over it. The letters for enjoy are the smaller letters that come with the Solos (CTMH). I used a large scallop scissors to cut the scallop edge and the brads and ribbon were in my stash. I really like how it turned out.

This next card was inspired by this card on Paper Hearts Card Co. blog. I spent the most time trying to find a small stem and leaf stamp. Then getting the stems to look a little random.

I ended up using a stamp set called Kindred Spirits from CTMH-it was a special set and isn't available anymore. Then sentiment is from the same set. I added the stitching look using Fabric Finishes from CTMH. Colors are Sweet Leaf, Hollyhock and Crystal Blue. The "flowers" are the discs I picked up at Michaels. I just got the lavendar looking ones on clearance. I thought this card was adorable. I really liked the idea of using the discs for the flowers. Simple, but nice.

With that, I will close for tonight. My twitching eyes are telling me they want to close! LOL Thanks for visiting. :o)

Both cards are really pretty, but my favorite is the Enjoy card -- love those papers, colors, and I'm always crazy about scallops. ;)

I agree with stampmonkey, both cards are pretty...but the Enjoy card is extra nice! I love your idea of running your paper thru the Cuttlebug w/ the Dots folder and then rubbing the ink pad over top...BRILLIANT!!! I see endless possiblities with that tip. Where in the world did you find scallop scissors that big? Need to add THOSE to my Wish List! Also...your choice of papers and colors is fabulous! Thank you Thank you Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful cards! The papers you card for your "Enjoy" card are perfect, and of course, you would realize that I love the second one! I don't have Kindred Spirits and couldn't for the life of me come up with the right little stem and leaves. You've inspired me to look some more!! TFS.

I love your little flower card -- it is so delicate! You said you found those little discs at Michael's -- where (what department), might I ask? I've looked high and low for them at my Michael's and haven't found them yet. Love your work!

(I don't have a blog, but my email address is kpmartin@bwmail.us -- in case you have time to reply. Thanks.)
