This is Me 2nd Page (Makes Me Happy) Challenge Layout

Each week we create the layout following Jessica's tutorial and then she invites us to create a 2nd Challenge Layout to help reinforce the techniques we've just learned. This week's Challenge Layout was to create a 2nd layout so that it would become a two page spread. Here's what mine looks like. Below this is just the 2nd page by itself so that you can enlarge it to see more detail.
I had the bright idea to take another picture of me in the mirror, only this time focus on my camera.

Then I bipped around the house and took pictures of things I love or that make me happy. Anyone who knows me, knows I love popcorn and Diet Coke, and lately have been eating peanuts while I work!

The afghan and cross stitch were made by my mother. The cross stitch being made well before I even thought of marriage, and maybe even before I met Steve. As I'm told, my mom started the project, got well into creating the piece and realized it wasn't going to fit on the cloth correctly. So she had to rip it out and start again! Talk about a labor of love. She passed away almost 2 years before I got married, and I knew nothing of this project until our reception, when my dad presented it to me in a beautiful frame. My sister-in-law stitched in the pertinent information. The tears flowed freely, let me tell you!

When I'm in my craft room by myself, I love listening to CDs and my current faves are pictured, Brad Paisley and Trace Adkins (thanks to Celebrity Apprentice, I've developed a whole new appreciation for him).

I wanted a picture of Buster AND Sarah, but didn't have enough space for them each to have their own spot, and I didn't have a good photo of them together, so I took two photos and blended them (knew how to do that because of this class)! I think it looks pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

After all this and putting the two layouts side by side, I don't really like them together. I think the eye is drawn straight to the camera and not the cool fingerprint side. But I don't HAVE to put the layouts side by side. I think the camera one stands well alone, so it's all good. I got to practice some more and had fun!

Oh, did I mention it got up to something like 83 degrees yesterday? It was wonderful. Today...not so much! It hasn't gotten much above 45 degrees and believe it or not, there is SNOW falling as I type this! Incredible, huh?

Thanks for visiting!

I love your second page! I would be crying, too, if I received such a special gift on my wedding day. I can't even imagine!

Good for you, Jeanne, getting the 2nd week 3 page done! It really enhances the whole layout, to go on to a 2nd page. I have to get motivated and do the same. . . maybe this weekend. .. but yours is inspiring me!

Hi Jeanne, Great post! I love reading about the 'person behind the blog'. I was very touched by the story of your mom and the cross-stitching. As a cross-stitcher myself, I have things made for my grandchildren, that my daughters have no idea I've made. Keep in mind my daughters are 16 and 11, so I'm not expecting grands ANY time soon. I admire your layout, as well, I like the idea of blending the photos and I think you did a great job. Thanks for sharing. Oh! And WHAT is up with that weather??? Amazing! Be Blessed!

You have done an amazing job Jeanne. The pages are fantastic. I am only half way thru the lesson, Fletcher has school holidays for 2 weeks and it has really slowed me down.

Beautiful, creative LOs, Jeanne! I'm so impressed with your digi skills! And I love how your memories of your mom are brought to life on some of the pages you've done - thanks for sharing them with us. It's nice to get to 'know' you a little more. ;)

Aren't you just lovin' this warm weather?! woo hoo!! Hope it lasts. (BTW, thanks for the advice regarding planting flowers -- regardless of the temps, I'll probably kill them myself soon anyway, but I'm taking it to heart and waiting until after Mother's Day before getting started.)
