Well Loved Blankie...

Today in my inbox I received my daily email from Jessica Sprague. She issued a challenge for us to practice taking still life photos and then using the photo in a layout. This is my effort.

I tried a couple of different objects, but didn't quite like the look I was getting. And there are no flowers around right now to take pictures of. I don't have any cool doorknobs or funky architecture. I thought of the blankie, still in a place of honor on Amy's bed, and thought it would have enough texture and a little story to make it interesting. I shot it in macro mode on my camera, sitting on the chair in front of the window in our living room. (which is where Sarah was lying down in yesterday's layout....must be a good spot for picture taking-LOL) I decided to play with some blending modes and really liked the look when I chose Luminosity, so I kept that. The template I used should certainly look familiar. I really like that bracket frame!
All the supplies are from the Snapshot of Spring Mega Kit from Gina Cabrera at Digital Design Essentials. Font is typeright!.

I also had some time in my craft room today and will share what I created in additional posts.

Thanks for visiting! I'm so tickled to read the nice comments on my creations.

Great layout and story. I love the photo. Isn't it funny how the favored blanket is rarely one that's practical. Cameron's favorite was white - not a great color for a boy, and I'm sure the bleach I used to keep it at least kind of white shortened its lifespan. As you can see, I like your stories, because they bring mine back. TFS!!

Awww, this is so cute! What a perfect thing to scrapbook! Although my kids are now college and launched, this is inspiring me to go look for their teddy bears and photograph them now for a layout! Jeanne, thanks so much for all your nice comments on my blog. Your "macro" comment really cracked me up; I was out of town, and didn't get a chance to do Jessica's lesson/assignment on a macro photo and your "heads up" really made me laugh! I really like to go to nikonians.org and read their thread on macros to learn more about macros. What a challenge!
