I was completely inkspired by this card from Taylored Expressions. I think I've got a thing for polka dots. :o) This was fun to create. I used Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basics stamp set and Hero Arts' Cupcake stamp set. I stamped the cupcake image with Archival Black ink and colored it in with Hollyhock and Sweet Leaf markers. I colored the cherry in with Cranberry (all CTMH markers). To get the white to pop out, I stamped first in white, then added white embossing powder and heat set. You can see the renegade powder that I missed, but oh well. After I used markers to add a sprinkling of color to the top of the cupcake, I went over it with glitter glue.
Question...does anyone know the difference between Stickles and the glitter glue you can find in the arts and craft aisle? I'm thinking you can get more bang for your buck using regular glitter glue, unless there's a significant difference I don't know about.
Back to the card...I think most of it is self explanatory, but if you have a question, please let me know. The ribbon is American Crafts. I used a pair of scallop scissors to cut the large scallops. Oh and I pop-dotted the cupcake, which is sort of hard to see at the angle the picture was taken. I also cut out the cherry and add it to the wet glitter glue. Guess there was more to explain than I thought! :o)
Anyway, the gal who writes this Taylored Expressions blog apparently does artwork involving cupcakes every Friday. Cute stuff... (all the time, not just on Fridays) you might want to check it out.
Onto the next card...

You obviously found some time to create. Good for you. I love your card. The colors are so fun. This granny is going to have to get "with it" and join the cupcake craze, too. Maybe find a Bella with a cupcake, killing two birds with one stone!! LOL! As for the glitter glue, I bought it first. Stickles are a little easier to "manage," and of course, there's a kazillion colors. Other than that, I don't know that there's a huge difference. HTH.
The polka dots are so fun, and I'm really into the cupcake craze right now too, so I'm lovin' this card!
Adorable. And who can resist cupcakes? :D
