Got to Play Today! Yea!

(I don't know why this happens, I do separate the paragraphs and for some reason Blogger doesn't show the breaks that I see in my preview. I even tried to fix it-sorry)
For the first time in I don't know HOW long, Steve had to go into work on Saturday. Oh and he wasn't thrilled by the idea either. So, he left at his normal work time and I slept in again. Okay, I don't normally sleep in at all, but this past week I have each morning. Just so you know...sleeping in for me means getting up at 7am as opposed to between 5-5:30am! My girls have actually woken up before me. So unusual, but nice in a way, too.

So anyway, I knew I wasn't going out anywhere for awhile and the girls decided they wanted to go out to Mommy's Room and who am I to say no?? LOL They've had fun coming up with kid creations, or playing in the back yard while I keep an ear out for them.

Beate Johns (Fresh & Fun) posts a Weekend Sketch Challenge every week and most times I admire it, the cards that others post, but don't ever get a chance to play (I usually have a bunch of cards I want to make). Well, when I saw Beate's card creation for the sketch she shared this week, I wanted to CASE it. So, I did. Now, I don't own much if anything from Stampin' Up, so I had to make do with other products, but I followed her design. It was a lot of fun to create.
credits: Grey Wool cardstock and ink(CTMH), blue textured cardstock (DCWV-Spring pack), patterned paper Spring Matstack (DCWV), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, swirl stamp (Heidi Grace), friends stamp-Share Laughter (Hero Arts), Pearls (Crystal stickers), grosgrain ribbon (CTMH), oval coluzzle, My Legacy Marker (CTMH)

Then, after Steve got home, I wanted to go out for a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love my girls, but we've had a lot of together time this week, and I wanted a little Mommy time. I went into a local scrapbook store (not Michaels, Joann's or Hobby Lobby) that is up the street from where I live and asked the owner if she had gotten the Nestibilities in that I knew she had ordered. Never in a million years did I think I'd hear, yes, they are hanging up right here. I am now the happy owner of the Classic Large Rectangles and Scallops. This will probably be my only set for a long, long time (unless I come into some money somehow). But I am tickled and think this set will be pretty versatile for me and will keep me happy for a long, long time! I did a few more errands and came home to break them out.

Hence, the second version of the same card!

Then after this fun day of stamping/playing, we had a birthday party to go to. It was at a local game place called Boondocks. The girls had pizza, cupcakes and then got 20 tokens a piece, plus a wristband allowing them to play in the climbing structure. Let's just say they played long and they played hard! And had a great time doing it.

I made more cards than this today, but am pretty tired myself so will close this hugely long post and thank you for reading IF you got this far! :o)

Georgeous cards!! I'm glad you had a chance to slip away and that you got your Nestabilities. I'm still waiting, but that's OK. Have a great Sunday!
