Jessica's Birthday Party

The kids had a great time.  The weather was perfect as well as the company.  Here are some photos from the day.  Mommy is going to sit and relax for a while...

100_4925 I saw this idea for the cupcakes on a blog, but didn't note the name of it. The inspiration had colored coconut on top, but I chose to tint frosting and roll the edges in sprinkles before adding the pumpkin candy. The top one dropped into the sprinkles so it became the "special" one for Jessica. Ü

100_4927 This is the aftermath of the little craft they made...fun foam finger puppets. The kids even put on an impromptu show for anyone who would watch.

100_4939 I thought it would also be fun, and in keeping with a fall theme, to have the kids throw pumpkin seeds (colored) and see if they could get them into a bucket. We started out farther back and moved closer. A few of the kids actually hit the buckets farther back than I thought they would. And Jessica managed to land one in a bucket, too! It was fun. Ü

100_4946 The parents may not like me after their kids get home, but I saw this idea and had to try it, lol. I melted chocolate candies (from the baking aisle at Michaels) and we (the girls and I) dipped marshmallows into the chocolate and then sprinkled them with fall theme sprinkles. I put them in the freezer to set and took them out mid way through the party for the kids to enjoy (and the parents, too...funny none of the adults tried it...). If the kids were a little older this would be something fun to try as a party activity...

100_4948 The birthday girl having a great time.

100_4959 Oh no! Some kid crashed the party! LOL

Thanks for indulging me in sharing these pictures. Ü

Who knows...maybe I'll be back later!

Oh and for Gloria in Utah who asked me about the Nestabilities...right now I'm finding I am using the circles most. The first set I got though were the ovals because that's  the hardest shape to make on your own. If you have a Hobby Lobby around you...you can buy Nestabilities there now using a 40% off coupon when they come out makes it much more affordable. Hope this helps.

It looks like you had a great time!! Can't wait to see the layouts you create.

Thanks for the answer about the nestabilities. We have a Hobby Lobby about 2 hours north of us, so I don't get there very often. (sigh) I may have to try to find a deal on eBay.

It looks like everyone had a great time at the party! Your activities and treats were very festive and I'm sure they were a big hit with the kids. That is funny that the adults didn't touch the marshmallow goodies. ;) I think it would've been a fun thing to make, fun to look at, but I think I, too, would refrain from going so far as to eating them. lol
